Compared to traditional metal braces, lingual braces may, at times, take slightly longer to straighten teeth. However, many patients at Royston Dental Care experience comparable treatment times. Others find that the benefits of hidden lingual braces outweigh the downsides.

All orthodontic treatments require a short adjustment period. With lingual braces, we affix the brackets to the inner side of your tooth, nearest your tongue. This means you may initially notice the brackets more while talking and eating. Most patients report losing their lisp and even forgetting about their braces after just a few weeks or within the first month.
